The govt. will now conduct NEET( National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test) instead of OJEE for admission to AYUSH( Homeopathy and Ayurvedic, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha) under graduate courses from the academic year 2018-19. I think it is a good step.Due to this decision the admission procedure will be standardised and the meritorious students will be attracted to study in these streams.

30 years ago, there was no entrance test for Homeopathy and Ayurvedic courses. In those days, even the students having no qualification to pass out the +2 Science exam could take admission in the govt. homeopathic medical college. Later same type of students took admission in the private Homeopathy and Ayurvedic medical colleges. Now they are doctors. God knows how they treat their patients. I think that kind of problem will be solved due to this step of govt.
