Best wishes for the coming MAKARA SANKRANTI

Postby namita_rath » Jan 11th, '14, 11:34

Best wishes for the coming MAKARA SANKRANTI which will be celebrated on 14th January 2014, Tuesday. Do the odias worship goddess Mahalaxmi on Makara sankrantI? One of our neighbour, a Bengali family worship maa Mahalaxmi before one day of this sankrantI every year. Perhaps it is their tradition.

Best wishes for the happy MAKARA SANKRANTI 2018. Makar Sankranti is celebrated on 14th January every year according to the Solar Calendar. From this day the Sun's northward journey begins and it enters the sign of Makar or Capricorn. On this day lakhs of people take holy bath in places like Ganga Sagar & Prayag. In Odisha people gather at Chandrabhaga, Konarka sea beach to take a dip and pray to Lord Sun.
